LITTLE SUN | THE POWER OF THE SUN FOR EVERYONE

Every brilliant Little Sun solar lamp helps provide affordable access to clean energy to communities in Africa living without electricity.

Launched in 2012 by artist Olafur Eliasson and engineer Frederik Ottesen at London’s Tate Modern, Little Sun’s social business brings clean, reliable, affordable energy to the 1.1 billion people in the world living without electricity while raising awareness for energy access and climate action worldwide. For each Little Sun lamp sold, one is offered to someone living off-grid at a locally affordable price.

On the ground, mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa, they work with people to create local jobs and in 2017, the Little Sun Foundation was formed. The Foundation delivers light to those beyond the reach of distribution channels, especially school children, refugees and people affected by natural disaster.
